Any class can run any weapon
Every class can now equip any weapon, and each class gets proficiency bonuses with its Signature type: assault rifles for Assault, SMGs for Engineer, LMGs for Support and sniper rifles for Recon.
BF6 ships with 4 classes (Assault, Engineer, Support, Recon) but weapons are no longer locked to a class.
- Any class can equip any weapon.
- Each class has a Signature weapon type that grants proficiency bonuses with that type: Assault = Assault Rifle (faster draw and sprint, better sprint recovery), Engineer = SMG (improved hip-fire control), Support = LMG (faster aim-down-sights, no sprint speed penalty), Recon = Sniper Rifle (reduced sway, quicker rechambering, better breath control). Off-Signature weapons work on any class but get no proficiency bonus.
TipIf you main Recon, you can carry an SMG for flank fights without losing your spawn beacon and sniper role; but you forfeit the Signature proficiency, so off-class guns feel slightly worse to handle.
