Sniper ADS smoothed out for non-Recon classes
Sniper rifles on non-Recon classes now scope in more smoothly with less jitter, but they still carry the quickscoping penalty compared with Recon.
Sniper rifles on any class other than Recon scope in more consistently, but the quickscoping penalty stays.
- The 1.4.2.0 WEAPONS changelog states that sniper rifles used by non-Recon classes now transition into aim down sights more smoothly and apply the intended aim offset immediately, reducing jitter. EA describes the change as preserving the intended quickscoping penalty compared with Recon, so that penalty is still in place. No figures were published for the aim offset, the transition, or the size of the penalty.
TipIf you dropped the sniper on a non-Recon class because scoping in felt inconsistent, it is worth another look, since the jitter is the part that was fixed. The off-class quickscope penalty is explicitly unchanged, so keep playing it as a hold-still, pre-aimed weapon rather than a flick weapon.
