Top Gun event adds Ace Medals and CJTF Helix
The Top Gun event adds Ace Medals, earned from Event Challenges and spent on themed cosmetics, plus the CJTF Helix squad unit and two new modes, all for a limited time only.
A limited-time crossover event with its own currency, cosmetics and squad unit, live only while it runs.
- EA calls Top Gun its biggest seasonal event yet, running across Battlefield 6 and REDSEC, with the new content unlocking at 12:00 UTC on 18 August. Event Challenges award Ace Medals, a limited-time currency that can be spent on Top Gun-themed cosmetics in the Event menu. The event also introduces CJTF Helix, a new squad unit inspired by Top Gun characters, alongside the new modes Top Gun: Carrier Strike and Gauntlet: Fighter Sweep. The Season 4 roadmap names it a Limited Time Event and EA published no end date, so if you are reading this after it closed, the Event Challenges and Ace Medals are no longer there to earn.
TipWhile the event is running, Ace Medals are spent on Top Gun cosmetics in the Event menu, so look at what is stocked there before deciding which challenges to chase. EA calls them a limited-time currency and published nothing about what happens to an unspent balance, so spend what you earn instead of banking it.
