What changed
- CHANGEBone
Bone now has higher default knockback (1.25 -> 1.5)
Bone knocks enemies back further by default and its upgrade offers are now Crit Chance and Crit Damage instead of Knockback.
Bone now has higher default knockback (1.25 -> 1.5) and no longer has Knockback as an upgrade offer, but instead has Crit Chance and Crit Damage
TipBone hits harder by default and its upgrade offers changed to crit chance and crit damage. If you used to take knockback on it out of habit, that option is gone and the crit route is now the build.
Official source - CHANGEShotgun
Shotgun now has higher default knockback (2.5 -> 3)
The Shotgun knocks enemies back further by default and offers Crit Damage upgrades instead of Knockback.
Shotgun now has higher default knockback (2.5 -> 3) and no longer has Knockback as an upgrade offer, but instead Crit Damage
TipShotgun got the same treatment as Bone: more knockback by default, and crit damage replacing knockback in its upgrade offers. It scales through crit now.

Proc Order: BloodyCleaver, Bonker, Dragonfire, EagleClaw
Items now trigger in alphabetical order by internal name, starting with Bloody Cleaver and ending with Unstable Transfusion.
Proc Order: BloodyCleaver, Bonker, Dragonfire, EagleClaw, GloveBlood, GloveCurse, GloveLightning, GlovePoison, GlovePower, GrandmasSecretTonic, IceCrystal, IceCube, LightningOrb, MoldyCheese, QuinsMask, SluttyCannon, Snek, SpicyMeatball, UnstableTransfusion
TipLook an item up by the spelling in this list, not by its in-game name: the gloves all sit together under Glove, so they resolve back to back rather than scattered through the order.
Official source - FIXSystem
Fixed: Spicy Meatball
Spicy Meatball and Bush's Bullseye passive now apply the elite damage multiplier only to the elite being hit, instead of stacking it for every elite and carrying it over to normal enemies.
Fixed a bug where Spicy Meatball and Bush's passive Bullseye would keep multiplying its damage with the Elite Damage Multiplier for every Elite Enemy, and also applying this amplified damage to normal enemies, instead of just applying that damage multiplier to the individual elite as it should.
TipThe elite multiplier now lands on the elite it belongs to instead of everything on screen. If you ranked these items on the numbers you were seeing, rank them again.
Official source - FIXV1.0.69 "Hotfix"
Fixed: HP Regen had a max cap of 1 per tick
HP Regen is no longer capped at 1 per tick, so stacking a lot of it now heals (or drains) more each tick, the same way Lifesteal and Kevin stack.
Fixed an issue where HP Regen had a max cap of 1 per tick.
- Fixed an issue where HP Regen had a max cap of 1 per tick. If you now stack enough HP regen, the value you heal (or lose) will stack, just like Lifesteal and Kevin. (Reported by Noll Reed)
TipStacking HP Regen now scales instead of being capped per tick, and the developer notes the value you lose stacks the same way. Negative regen is a real cost now, not a trickle.
Official source - FIXSaves
Sometimes players lose save files due to Steam Cloud or Megbonk bugging
A new button under Other in Settings uses your Steam Achievements to restore lost save progress, though achievements that are not on Steam cannot be recovered.
Sometimes players lose save files due to Steam Cloud or Megbonk bugging out, or some other reason.
- Sometimes players lose save files due to Steam Cloud or Megbonk bugging out, or some other reason.
- There isn't much to do in these cases, but I've now added a new button found under "Other" Settings inside Megabonk. This button will use your Steam Achievements to recover as much lost progress as it can. It's not perfect, and any in-game achievement that is not on Steam cannot be recovered, but it's better than nothing, and should help you get most of your stuff back.
TipIf you ever lost progress, this is the patch that gives you a way back. The recovery button is under Other in settings and rebuilds what it can from your Steam achievements, so anything that was never a Steam achievement stays lost.
Official source - BUFFPots
Pots / Vases now give a little luck
Breaking pots and vases now gives a little luck that scales with the stage, so collecting them along your route pays off.
Pots / Vases now give a little luck, which scales with the stage, suggested by nate_codes.
- Pots / Vases now give a little luck, which scales with the stage, suggested by nate_codes.
- I think it's a fun suggestion, as it incentivizes collecting pots, which increases value of good movement and map routing, as well as Movement speed stat and Pumpkin item. Let me know what you think
TipBreaking pots is worth a detour now, and later stages pay more for it. Movement speed quietly became a luck stat.
Official source - BUFFFeathers
Feathers now give about 10% more speed forward when jumping
Feathers now carry you further forward when jumping and also give an extra jump.
Feathers now give about 10% more speed forward when jumping, as well as giving +1 jumps
TipThe speed bonus applies only while you are airborne, so Feathers rewards players who already jump constantly and does little for those who do not.
Official source - CHANGEVlad
Vlad now has 5% Lifesteal (flat) added to character stats
Vlad now starts with a flat bonus to Lifesteal in the character stats.
TipVlad carries lifesteal in his base stats, so his sustain scales with damage rather than with healing pickups. Build damage and the survivability follows.
Official source - CHANGESpaceman
Spaceman now has 5% XP Gain (flat) added to character stats
Spaceman now starts with a flat bonus to XP Gain in the character stats.
TipSpaceman's XP bonus sits in his base stats, so it compounds across the whole run. Builds that want many levels suit him better than burst-damage ones.
Official source - CHANGEZa Warudo
You can now obtain a max amount of 25 Za Warudos per run
Za Warudo is now capped at 25 per run.
TipZa Warudo is no longer an open-ended scaling target, so a run built around collecting it has a fixed finish line. Decide what carries the build once you reach it.
Official source - CHANGESystem
Items no longer tick / proc in the order they were obtained
Items now trigger in a fixed order based on their names, so the order you pick them up in no longer matters.
Items no longer tick / proc in the order they were obtained.
- Items no longer tick / proc in the order they were obtained. They are now ordered by the name of the item (enum name specifically). This is just to make the game more consistent, and make it so that the order you pick up items doesn't actually matter.
TipPick-up order is no longer a lever. Proc order now follows the item's name, so take the item you want the moment it is offered instead of holding a pick to shape the sequence.
Official source - FIXDicehead
Fixed: a pretty big bug with Dicehead where if you received
Dicehead's passive now triggers for every level gained at once from a big chunk of XP instead of only once.
Fixed a pretty big bug with Dicehead where if you received multiple levels at once from a big chunk of XP, his passive would only trigger once....
- Fixed a pretty big bug with Dicehead where if you received multiple levels at once from a big chunk of XP, his passive would only trigger once.... yikes (thanks to Noll Reed for the find)
TipDicehead's passive fires once per level even when several arrive together, so a large XP pickup is no longer quietly worth less than the same XP spread out.
Official source - FIXChunkers
Fixed: Chunkers was only affected by its own Projectile
Chunkers now uses your player Projectile Speed stat as well as the weapon's own.
Fixed a bug where Chunkers was only affected by its own Projectile Speed stat on the weapon itself, and not by the Player Stat (also Noll Reed)
Official source - FIXJoe's Dagger
Fixed: Joe's Dagger Execute sometimes did no damage
Fixed a bug where Joe's Dagger Execute sometimes did no damage (also found by Noll Reed...)
TipExecute doing nothing was intermittent rather than something you were misreading, so if you dropped Joe's Dagger after it felt unreliable it is worth another pick.
Official source - FIXSystem
Fixed: you could get 5 tomes or weapons with auto leveling
Fixed a bug where you could get 5 tomes or weapons with auto leveling enabled (found by メープル)
Official source - FIXSystem
Fixed: poison could sometimes bring you below 0 hp
Fixed a bug where poison could sometimes bring you below 0 hp and kill you (found by Snek)
Official source - FIXSystem
Fixed: money would keep circling
Fixed a bug where money would keep circling you and not be picked up...
- Fixed a bug where money would keep circling you and not be picked up... at least i think its fixed
TipThe developer signs this one off with "at least i think its fixed", so if gold still orbits you instead of collecting, treat it as the same bug rather than as a new pickup rule.
Official source - FIXFinal Boss
Fixed: you could stand on the invisible floor below the final boss arena
Fixed a bug where you could stand on the invisible floor below the final boss arena
Official source - FIXSystem
Fixed: the front swing of Corrupted Sword
Fixed a bug where the front swing of Corrupted Sword and Hero Sword only damaged one enemy
TipGive Corrupted Sword and Hero Sword another look in crowd-heavy runs: the front swing was the broken half, so what changed is their pack clearing, not their damage per hit.
Official source - FIXSystem
Fixed: Rollerblades didn't work properly after teleporting
Fixed a bug where Rollerblades didn't work properly after teleporting to the next stage
TipThe break was tied to stage transitions, so the fix only shows up after your first teleport. Judge Rollerblades over a full run rather than on the stage where you pick them up.
Official source - FIXJoe's Dagger
Crazy Damage bug - Seems to have been caused by Joe's dagger
The crazy damage bug, which seems to have been caused by Joe's Dagger, should now be fixed, and leaderboards will probably be reset because current scores were set with the bug.
Crazy Damage bug - Seems to have been caused by Joe's dagger, but should be fixed now.
- Crazy Damage bug - Seems to have been caused by Joe's dagger, but should be fixed now. Thanks to everyone who helped test and figure out what caused this. Will probably reset leaderboards after update has rolled out since the current scores all are done with the damage bug
TipScores from before this fix are not a benchmark. Judge your runs against the boards as they stand now.
Official source - FIXShotgun
Fixed: Shotgun Crit Damage upgrade gave 0% (found by Stelio)
Fixed an issue where Shotgun Crit Damage upgrade gave 0% (found by Stelio)
TipThe Shotgun crit upgrade does something now, so reconsider it if you learned to skip that offer.
Official source - FIXKevin
Fixed: Kevin quest being the wrong rarity (found by RBLXPumpkin)
The Kevin quest now has the correct rarity.
Fixed Kevin quest being the wrong rarity (found by RBLXPumpkin)
Official source - FIXV1.0.69 "Hotfix"
Fixed: using Auto Leveling to pick a tome didn't give any
Fixed an issue where using Auto Leveling to pick a tome didn't give any stats for the very first level (found by Justicetom)
Official source - FIXMultiple items
Fixed: Leeching Crystal didn't proc Megachad's Flex (found by Tatara)
Leeching Crystal now triggers Megachad's Flex.
Fixed an issue where Leeching Crystal didn't proc Megachad's Flex (found by Tatara)
TipThis one is Megachad-only: Leeching Crystal now triggers his Flex where before it did nothing for it, so re-rate the crystal on him and leave your other characters' plans alone.

Requirements for Shady hats have been lowered
- NEWNew Stuff
21 Hats and Achievements
21 new hats have been added, along with achievements.
TipHats are cosmetic, but they come with achievements attached, so this update added a lot of things to chase without changing how any of it plays.
Official source - CHANGEInterface
You can see what items you have banished in the pause menu
You can now see your banished items in the pause menu and when opening a chest or shrine.
You can see what items you have banished in the pause menu and when opening a chest / shrine

Stats now show while holding tab and showing map
Your stats now appear while you hold Tab to view the map.
TipAfter a level-up pick or a shop buy, hold tab for a moment to confirm the stat actually moved before you commit to stacking that line further.
Official source - CHANGEInterface
Added a little window in the Unlocks tab in the main menu
The Unlocks tab in the main menu now has a small window showing which stats are upgradable and useful for each weapon, plus the stats unique to each character.
Added a little window in the Unlocks tab in the main menu showing what stats are upgradable and useful for different weapons (suggested by NintenDoingIt on reddit).
- Added a little window in the Unlocks tab in the main menu showing what stats are upgradable and useful for different weapons (suggested by NintenDoingIt on reddit). Also shows all stats unique to each character
TipPick the weapon you actually play first, then put upgrades only into the stats the window names for it. The unique-stat list also works as a character comparison sheet when you cannot decide who to take.
Official source - BUFFRobinette
Slightly buffed Robinette's passive in late game
Robinette's passive gives more damage per 1k gold once you pass 1M gold, so the late game is a bit stronger.
Slightly buffed Robinette's passive in late game.
- Slightly buffed Robinette's passive in late game. Damage per 1k gold after 1M gold: 2.5% -> 3.5%
TipThis gives Robinette back some of the very late-game damage the earlier patch removed. It only matters in gold-heavy leaderboard runs; ordinary runs will not notice.
Official source - CHANGERobinette
Robinette now has 5% Gold Gain (flat) added to character stats
Robinette now starts with a flat bonus to Gold Gain in the character stats.
TipRobinette's edge is spending power, not raw strength. Put the surplus into shop refreshes rather than banking it.
Official source - CHANGESystem
Xp shards now have a little size difference so you can tell
Better XP shards are now slightly different in size, so you can tell them apart from normal ones.
Xp shards now have a little size difference so you can tell the better xp shards apart from the normal ones
TipShard size is information now, so sweep by size rather than by whatever is nearest when a wave dies and you are picking a route through the drops.
Official source - FIXSystem
Fixed: if you are in-game
Moving forwards or backwards when the level-up screen appears no longer moves your selection on that screen.
Fixed an annoying thing where if you are in-game and moving forwards or backwards as you level up and the level-up screen shows, it no longer moves your cursor selection with that old input you used for movement
Official source - CHANGESystem
Can spin the character in the Character Selection to see
You can now rotate characters on the Character Selection screen with the mouse or the controller shoulder buttons and triggers.
Can spin the character in the Character Selection to see them from different angles.
- Can spin the character in the Character Selection to see them from different angles. Use Mouse or Controller Shoulder buttons / triggers
- Official sourceCHANGEScythe
Lowered the volume of Scythe a bit, as it was too loud

Fixed: some errors caused by Steam Rich Presence
Fixed some errors caused by Steam Rich Presence, which might've stopped achievements from working properly sometimes in-game
TipAn achievement you clearly earned but never saw pop may have been lost to this rather than permanently locked, so go back and trigger the condition again.
Official source - FIXSystem
Fixed: if you had more than 350 items
Fixed an issue where if you had more than 350 items, it would sometimes fail to upload your score to the leaderboards
TipStack items freely again. The upload failure that quietly cost deep runs their leaderboard entry is gone.
Official source - FIXSystem
Fixed: Roberto's ghost chests would spawn inside of walls
Fixed a bug where Roberto's ghost chests would spawn inside of walls on the Boss Stage
TipThis only ever affected Roberto on the Boss Stage, so if he is your pick, budget a lap of the arena there for his chests rather than closing the fight out the moment you can.
Official source - FIXSystem
Fixed: minibosses would spawn under the map (reported by virgules)
Fixed a bug where minibosses would spawn under the map (reported by virgules)
Official source - FIXSystem
Fixed: a default game setting that caused some lower fps
Fixed a default game setting that caused some lower fps and a translations error (reported by Justicetom)
TipThe lost frames came from a shipped default rather than your machine, so if you had turned your own graphics options down to chase the stutter, put them back and retest.
Official source - FIXSystem
Fixed: a UI bug in the "Unlocks" window
Fixed a UI bug in the "Unlocks" window, where the buy button would overlap with the achievement description
Official source - FIXSystem
Fixed: hats would not be affected by the shield outline
Fixed a bug where hats would not be affected by the shield outline
Official source - FIXDesert
Fixed: if you pressed tab while loading in on Desert
Fixed an issue where if you pressed tab while loading in on Desert, the game would just give a black screen
Official source - FIXV1.0.65 Hotfix
Fixed: the Top Hat could be unlocked on any stage (found by dan42069)
The Top Hat can no longer be unlocked on any stage you like.
Fixed an issue where the Top Hat could be unlocked on any stage (found by dan42069)
TipHat hunting got stricter: the Top Hat no longer counts on whatever stage you happen to be running. A spare run on your fastest map will not earn it, so check what the hat itself asks for first.
Official source - FIXRockets
Fixed: transparency setting would not work on rockets
Fixed an issue where transparency setting would not work on rockets
Official source - FIXV1.0.69 "Hotfix"
Fixed: if you banished all weapons and maxed your weapons
Fixed a bug where if you banished all weapons and maxed your weapons and tomes without filling up all your weapon slots, you would be boosted to level 9999
TipJudge an empty weapon slot on its own merit now, because leaving one open no longer hands you the level jump. If an old run of yours ended at level 9999, that combination is why, and it will not repeat.
Official source - FIXFinal Boss
Fixed: the Sheriff's Hat achievement could not be unlocked
Fixed a bug where the Sheriff's Hat achievement could not be unlocked on the final boss fight (reported by afettuccine)
TipIf a final boss clear never handed you the Sheriff's Hat, that was the bug rather than the run. The unlock registers on that fight now, so the attempt is worth repeating.
Official source - BUFFMultiple items
Cheesy Hat can now be unlocked on Forest as well
Cheesy Hat can now be unlocked on Forest as well, not just on Desert
TipThe Cheesy Hat unlock no longer forces a Desert run, so chase it on whichever of the two maps you finish more reliably. Only the map restriction opened up.

Lost Saves / Progress
- Sometimes players lose save files due to Steam Cloud or Megbonk bugging out, or some other reason. There isn't much to do in these cases, but I've now added a new button found under "Other" Settings inside Megabonk.
