Cooking changes in Project Zomboid

Safe mushrooms stay safe when you cook them together with a poisonous one, so they no longer get marked as poisoned.

The Straight Razor now works as a sharp knife in crafting recipes, but its durability is very low and it can break when you craft with it.

Added the SharpKnife item tag so the Straight Razor item can be used for crafting; however, it also has very low durability values and will also be liable to break when used for crafting.

Tents, Lean-tos and Ponchos still need a whole Tarp and cannot be made from Tarp Pieces.

You still need an entire whole Tarp to make a Tent, Lean-to, or Poncho.

Tarp Pieces cannot be taped back together into a whole Tarp, and that is intended.

It is intentional that you can't tape together Tarp Pieces to make a new Tarp.

The Cook and Hunter traits and the Chef profession now give an extra level in Butchering, while the Burger Flipper profession gives none on purpose.

The Cook trait, Hunter trait, and Chef profession receive a +1 skill level in Butchering; it is intentional that the Burger Flipper profession does not provide any benefit in Butchering.

Recipes for cutting bacon into smaller pieces are now listed under Cooking instead of Farming.

Canned Soup is now called Canned Vegetable Soup. To make a pot of soup from an opened can, you now add it to a pot of water, and you can add more ingredients as well.

Cooking a rotten egg now gives you a cooked rotten egg instead of a fresh boiled egg, and other rotten foods that change when cooked work the same way.

• now if food is rotten and has a "replace on cooked" value, it will not be replaced but will still be cooked, i.e. you will get a cooked rotten egg when you cook a rotten egg.

Cooked eggs can no longer be used in non-evolved recipes they don't belong in.

Hot drinks made with Black Sage, Common Mallow or Lemon Grass now keep those herbs' medicinal effects as Herbal Teas.

When Hot Drink beverages are made using Black Sage, Common Mallow, or Lemon Grass the medicinal properties of those items are transferred to the Beverage, "Herbal Teas".

Hot Drinks accept a wider range of ingredients and get special names, so herbal teas are easier to brew.

For herbal tea purposes, Hot Drinks are more flexible re ingredients and have special naming.

Coffee and Espresso Machines now only accept mugs and other suitable items.
