Hemlok changes in Apex Legends

The Hemlok's Breach Charge has a longer cooldown and does half as much damage to Hardlight and structures, and the Hemlok's base damage drops slightly.

The Hemlok Breach AR holds fewer rounds at every magazine tier, so you reload more often.

The Hemlok Breach AR's Breach Charge takes longer to come back but now spreads gas and smoke, and the gun deals slightly less damage, kicks more and has smaller magazines.

TipSpace out your Breach Charges more carefully - you can't chain them to support aggressive pushes anymore.

The Hemlok Breach AR drops burst and single fire for a slow, silenced automatic mode and adds a Breach Charge, an explosive shot on a cooldown that does heavy damage to Hardlight and structures.

The Hemlok has a shorter delay between bursts, so it can fire bursts back to back faster.

TipLanding burst headshots is more rewarding - use it as your mid-range hitscan if you can control recoil.

The Care Package Hemlok hits harder, with stronger headshots and better recoil, and has Boosted Loader built in for faster low-ammo reloads that overfill the magazine.

TipHemlock rewards headshots more and low-ammo reloads are faster; use it at range where burst damage spikes matter most.

The Boosted Loader hop-up for the Hemlok and Wingman can no longer be found on the floor or crafted.

TipPut crafting materials toward something the replicator still carries, and choose between two guns on how they handle unmodified.

The Hemlok has more recoil, mostly in burst mode, with slightly less in single fire, and its headshots do less damage.

• Increasing horizontal recoil of the first 3 shots slightly to the right (first burst when in burst mode)
• Increasing recoil magnitude in the later stages of the pattern
• Reducing recoil multiplier in single fire mode to help compensate for additional recoil in pattern.
• Recoil should mostly be increased in burst mode rather than single fire mode
• Reducing headshot multiplier 2.0 -> 1.75 (44 -> 39 damage headshot against no helmet base character)

TipEA moved the recoil into burst mode and eased it in single fire, so tap at range and keep burst for close fights. The head to body damage gap also narrowed, so steady body fire costs you less than chasing flicks.

The Hemlok fires faster in single-shot mode, so it deals more damage per second when you tap-fire.

Single-shot rate of fire 5.6 → 6.4

TipOnly the single-shot mode got faster, the burst is untouched. If you leave the Hemlok on burst you get none of this, so it is an argument for switching modes rather than for picking the gun up.
