EVA-8 changes in Apex Legends

The EVA-8 fires a little faster with a tighter spread, so more pellets land at range.

The EVA-8 Auto deals more damage per pellet but fires more slowly, and its purple and gold bolts now match other shotguns.

The EVA-8 fires much faster at every bolt tier, but each pellet does less damage.

TipNow a spray weapon, not a single-burst killer - missed pellets punish harder than before.

The EVA-8 does more damage per pellet but no longer gets bonus damage on headshots.

TipHead and body pellets are now worth the same, so there is nothing to gain from flicking upward. Hold the crosshair on the widest part of the target and let the raised pellet damage carry the fight.

The Care Package EVA-8 has bigger initial pellets, a tighter spread and better handling, but carries less reserve ammo.

The Care Package EVA-8 fires faster with less recoil but deals less damage per pellet; Hammer Points add more damage against flesh and the Gold Shotgun Bolt reloads two shells per slide.

TipThe faster fire rate compensates for lower per-pellet damage; spray more to maintain DPS in close fights, and use slide reloads to stay mobile.

The Double Tap Trigger hop-up for the EVA-8 and G7 Scout no longer shows up on the floor or in crafting bundles.

The EVA-8's shots are bigger at close range, so they are easier to land.

The Double Tap Trigger is now a legendary hop-up and gives the G7 Scout less recoil in burst fire.

The EVA-8 fires faster with one fewer but harder-hitting pellet, has better recoil, takes stocks and gets bigger fire rate bonuses from blue and purple bolts.

TipStocks reduce spread for reliable close-range fights, and faster fire rate with higher pellet damage lets you shred shields quicker.

The EVA-8 fires slightly slower.

Fire rate 2.1 → 2.0

TipThe gap between shells is now a touch longer, so the window a target has to break line of sight between your shots grows with it. Keep the pressure in one continuous push instead of peeking out for each shell.

The EVA-8 gains much less fire rate from higher-rarity bolts, but its base fire rate stays the same.

TipChasing a purple or gold bolt buys you much less speed than it used to, so an early EVA-8 is no longer worth hoarding bolts for - take the fight with what you have.

The EVA-8's Double Tap hop-up has a shorter delay between bursts, so it fires its two-shot bursts faster.

TipOnly the gap between bursts got shorter, the burst itself is unchanged. If you have been firing once and ducking back into cover, staying on target for the second burst is where this pays.
