    Self-freeze no longer caught by Emma Frost's ult

    Cloak & Dagger are no longer caught by Emma Frost's ultimate control effect after freezing themselves with the Frozen Haven team-up.

    Cloak & Dagger would still be affected by Emma Frost's Ultimate Ability control effect after using the Frozen Haven Team-Up to freeze themselves, and that has been addressed.

    TipThe Frozen Haven self-freeze now holds against Emma Frost's ultimate instead of leaving you controlled anyway, so it is worth saving for that moment. The notes name only her ultimate, so do not assume the self-freeze clears other control effects.

    Terror Cape lockout with The Hood Team-Up fixed

    When selecting The Hood Team Up, Cloak would occasionally be unable to use Terror Cape, and that is fixed.

    TipThe Hood is the new hero in this same update, so this is a Team-Up many players will be selecting for the first time. Cloak keeps access to Terror Cape with it selected now, so you are not down an ability for picking it.

    Abnormal Repair ModeRMB charge refill fixed

    Rocket's Repair Mode charges could abnormally refill after using the Planet X Pals Team-Up ability, and no longer do.

    TipIf your Repair Mode uptime felt unusually generous after using Planet X Pals, that was the bug paying you. Plan around the normal charge count from here, especially in the fight straight after the Team-Up ability goes off.

    Angela corridor stuck spot fixed on Thebes

    On the Thebes map Angela would occasionally get stuck and become unable to move after passing through the corridor, and that is fixed.

    TipThe fix is specific to Angela and to that one corridor, so a stuck spot anywhere else on Thebes is not covered by it. Angela can pass through the corridor without the occasional stall that used to strand her there.

    Accessibility settings now save to your account

    Some Accessibility settings failed to save to the user's account, and they now persist.

    TipIf you gave up on the accessibility menu because your choices kept reverting, set them once more after the August 13th patch and they should stay on the account instead of resetting on you.

    Fixed an issue where Hela could become paralyzed in place when casting Astral Flock after rising in Thoth's Wrath zones on Wakanda maps.

    TipThe stall hit when you cast Astral Flock after rising in a Thoth's Wrath zone on Wakanda maps, so if you had trained yourself to wait before flocking there, you can drop that habit. The same patch also fixes a Lady Loki animation bug on the Hela Team-Up Ability, Villain's Illusion.

    Psionic Vortex shield refill bug fixed

    Doctor Strange can no longer instantly refill Shield of the SeraphimRMB to full by using the Psionic Vortex team-up while the shield's enhanced effect is active.

    Doctor Strange could instantly restore Shield of the Seraphim to its maximum value by using the Psionic Vortex Team-Up Ability while the shield's enhanced effect was active, and that unintended behaviour has been addressed.

    TipIf you had learned to fire Psionic Vortex during the shield's enhanced window for a free full refill, that reset is gone, so plan Shield of the Seraphim uptime without it. Doctor Strange players who never ran that team-up will feel no difference.

    Install size cut on every platform

    Marvel Rivals takes up less drive space on every platform, with the biggest saving on PC and the smallest on PlayStation 4.

    An optimized texture resource compression strategy reduces hard drive footprint after installation by an expected ~30% on PC, ~20% on Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5, and ~7% on PlayStation 4.

    TipThe smaller footprint applies after the update is installed, so the saving arrives with the patch rather than before it. PC gets the biggest cut of any platform listed, so it is where a reinstall takes the least space.

    On Times Square, Team-Up statuses no longer get removed when you leave a team while in a party.

    On Times Square, Team-Up statuses were improperly removed after exiting a team in a party state, and that has been corrected.

    TipThe notes tie this to one moment: exiting a team while in a party state on Times Square. Do that now and your Team-Up statuses stay with you instead of being removed.

    Stealing certain heroes' abilities could cause abnormal text displays on the in-match ability description panel, and that display bug is fixed.

    TipIf you had stopped reading the description panel because it printed broken text on certain steals, it is trustworthy again. Read what the borrowed ability actually says before you commit to using it.

    Wrong KO icon on Cyber-Web ClusterLMB fixed

    Peni would occasionally show an incorrect KO icon when defeating enemies with her Cyber-Web Cluster after activating her Team-Up with Black Panther, and that is fixed.

    TipThis is a display fix only, so nothing about her damage or her Cyber-Web Cluster changed. If you were second-guessing your kills while running the Black Panther Team-Up, the icon was wrong, not your aim.

  • The tactical landscape is constantly shifting, and a new wave of priority adjustments is on the way. Wolverine's Rage gains aggressive momentum, Moon Knight is bouncing his sharp pointy things with more style, and Peni Parker's control is getting a little less sticky.
  • Review the changes below and prepare for deployment. Here is the breakdown:

4 Aug 2026 › VANGUARD › Devil Dinosaur

  • Our prehistoric pal is beefing up his bite and making a bigger splash when he teams up!
  • - Increase Maximum Health Percentage Damage dealt by the first four attacks of Frenzied Feast from 5% to 8%, and the fifth attack from 10% to 12%
  • - When selecting the Team-Up with Jeff the Land Shark, increase Surf & Turf maximum duration from 4s to 5s, and the healing effect on allies from 40 to 60.

4 Aug 2026 › VANGUARD › Doctor Strange

  • The Sorcerer Supreme is manifesting more mystical munitions and spinning maelstroms even faster with the Green Goliath.
  • - Increase Daggers of Denak single-hit damage from 16 to 18 and projectile charges from 10 to 12.
  • - When selecting the Team-Up with Hulk, reduce Gamma Maelstrom cooldown from 8s to 6s.

  • The Master of Magnetism is adding a little extra lift to his offensive strikes when channeling chaos.
  • - When selecting the Team-Up with Scarlet Witch. Enhanced Effect: The Metallic Chaos projectile hit now adds a minor Launch Up effect to enemies.

4 Aug 2026 › VANGUARD › Peni Parker

  • SP//dr's core plating gets a minor adjustment to sync with the new Team-Up system, while Peni recalibrates her web-shooters for a fairer fight.
  • Dev Note: We are slightly weakening Peni's control and survivability. In particular, the Immobilize effect applied by her Cyber-Web Snare was too frequent and oppressive, leading to a poor counter-experience for her enemies. We've decided to increase the cost of applying this control, but in return, we will also increase the freedom of her secondary fire.
  • - Remove the direct Immobilize effect upon hitting enemies with Cyber-Web Snare. New Effect: Now applies a stack of Web-Tracer and a 30% Slow effect for 1s. The Web-Tracer lasts for 5s. If an enemy with a Web-Tracer is hit by the snare again, they will be Immobilized for 0.7s.
  • - Adjust Cyber-Web Snare to be a charge-based ability, with a maximum of 2 charges.
  • - Reduce Bonus Health cap provided to Peni by Cyber-Webs from 200 to 150.

  • The Southern Belle is absorbing the hits and keeping her defenses sturdier under fire.
  • - Increase the damage reduction multiplier while in Defensive Stance from 55% to 60%.
  • - Increase Regenerative Shield capacity from 250 to 275.

  • We are reeling in the symbiote's ravenous resilience to ensure he has to swing with a bit more strategy.
  • - Reduce the Bonus Health provided by Symbiotic Resilience from 120% of lost health to 110%.
  • - Increase Venom Swing cooldown from 8s to 10s.

  • T'Challa is pulling slightly back on his elemental ferocity to better conserve his royal energy.
  • - When selecting the Team-Up with Storm, reduce the area damage to enemies from 40 to 30, and increase the cooldown from 12s to 15s.

4 Aug 2026 › DUELIST › Cyclops

  • Scott's optic blasts are bouncing back faster and blasting harder when Gambit hands him an ace.
  • - Increase cooldown reduction provided to Ricochet Force per Optic Blast hit from 0.15s to 0.25s.
  • - When selecting the Team-Up with Gambit, increase the Concussive Beam Attack Frequency boost from 10% to 15%.

4 Aug 2026 › DUELIST › Elsa Bloodstone

  • The monster hunter's traps are slightly less monstrous when pairing up with her favorite prehistoric pal.
  • - When selecting the Team-Up with Devil Dinosaur, reduce the health of an activated Smoky Snare trap from 100 to 50, and its Control duration from 1.5s to 1.2s.

  • The Goddess of Death is showing a mere sliver of mercy when calling upon the horrors of the deep.
  • - When selecting the Team-Up with Namor, reduce Undead Monstro single-hit damage from 15 to 10.

4 Aug 2026 › DUELIST › Moon Knight

  • Khonshu's avatar leaps with greater grace, and his crescent darts retain more lunar lethality on the bounce.
  • - Adjust Crescent Dart and Moon Blade bounce damage decay from 30% to 20% per bounce.
  • - When selecting the Team-Up with Cloak & Dagger, reduce Luminous Moon cooldown from 15s to 12s.
  • -- Base Effect: Increase dash duration from 0.3s to 0.35s and dash distance from 12m to 15m.
  • -- Enhanced Effect: Moon Knight gains a 3s healing effect of 20 Health/s after leaving the Phased state.

4 Aug 2026 › DUELIST › Phoenix

  • Jean's cosmic detonations are sparking brighter, especially when a certain Southern Belle is around.
  • - Increase the damage dealt when detonating Sparks from 35 to 40, and increase the area damage from 12 to 15.
  • - When selecting the Team-Up with Rogue, increase Telekinetic Beatdown damage dealt from 45 to 55.

4 Aug 2026 › DUELIST › Wolverine

  • Logan is tapping into his rage harder and carrying that animalistic fury longer through the fray.
  • - Berserker Rage Adjustment: Increase Rage gained per hit taken from 5 to 8. Adjust Rage decay timer from starting after 4s of no Rage gained to after 5s. At maximum Rage, reduce the decay rate from 15/s to 10/s.

  • The Witch of Wundagore's unpredictable chaos magic gains a measure of arcane stability when she allies with the Sorcerer Supreme.
  • - When selecting the Team-Up with Doctor Strange:
  • -- Base Effect: The ability has an 8s cooldown and 8s duration. When activated, Chthonian Burst is replaced with Mystic Burst, allowing magic missiles to be fired freely with no energy cost.
  • -- Enhanced Effect: Becomes a toggle-type ability. When toggled on, Mystic Burst replaces Chthonian Burst, allowing magic missiles to be fired freely with no energy cost.

  • Remy is playing a steadier hand when shifting the battlefield with his magnetic rival.
  • - When selecting the Team-Up with Magneto, adjust the Launch Up Frequency of the spell field from 0.5s to 1s.

  • Jubilation is packing slightly more punch and pop into her radiant, sparkling fireworks!
  • - Increase Energy Plasmoids single-hit damage from 10 to 11 and single-hit healing from 14 to 15.

  • A "Lady Loki" State of Mind: We've designed an exclusive set of movement and combat animations specifically for Lady Loki, ensuring her battlefield presence perfectly marches her mischievous elegance. These new animations are applied to all Lady Loki costumes by default. Fans of the old style can easily toggle back to the classic animations via the small gear icon next to the "Equip" button in the Costume interface.
  • Jeff Remembers He's a Shark: After much waddling, Jeff finally recalled he is, in fact, an aquatic creature! Now, when Jeff the Land Shark enters the deep waters of Hellfire Bay Beach, he will automatically transition into a swimming animation to keep cruising through the water.

  • - Iron Fist's Flying Flaw: Fixed an issue where using Yat Jee Chung Kuen during the Ultimate Ability could cause abnormal displacement. Lin Lie's flow state is restored; no more unintentional movements.
  • - Rogue's Stolen Syntax: Fixed a bug where stealing certain heroes' abilities could cause abnormal text displays on the in-match ability description panel. Rogue might borrow powers, but she shouldn't be breaking our UI.

  • - Accessibility Amnesia: Addressed an issue where some Accessibility settings failed to save to the user's account. Your preferences will now stick around for the long haul.
  • - Emote Immobility Imprisonment: Fixed a glitch preventing Iron Fist's Kickflip Cruise, Jeff the Land Shark's Merc's March, and Ultron's Breaking the Strings emotes from being used while moving in non-combat areas. You can now flex and strut in spawn to your heart's content.
  • - Dragon Overload: Resolved a visual clash where Iron Fist's Furious Flow Ultimate Ability VFX was unintentionally overwritten by the White Fox Team-Up effects. K'un-Lun's street fury will shine through unobstructed once again.
  • - Winter Soldier Subtitles: We've added English and Chinese subtitles to the Captain America: The Winter Soldier highlights screenings.
